Privacy Policy

A few business details on this page are still being finalised. They’re marked like [this].
This policy explains how Cornerstone Sites (“Cornerstone”, “we”, “us”) handles personal information. Cornerstone is operated by [Legal entity name: to be confirmed] , ABN [ABN: to be confirmed] , based in Melbourne, Victoria.
We aim to handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). In short: we only collect what we need to help you with your website, we don’t sell it, and you can ask to see or correct it at any time.
What we collect
Information you give us
- When you send an enquiry: your name, business name, email address and phone number (if you give it), plus what you tell us about your business, your current website or domain, what you need, and any budget or timing.
- When you email or call us: whatever you choose to include.
- If you become a client: the content you send us for your website (such as your logo, photos and business details), billing details, and the login details needed to connect your domain.
Information collected automatically
- Visitor statistics. We use privacy-friendly analytics that do not use cookies and do not track you across other websites. They tell us things like how many people visited a page, which page they came from, and their general region and device type, in aggregate.
- Security and delivery. Our hosting provider processes technical information such as your IP address and browser type to deliver the website and protect it from abuse.
- Form drafts in your browser. Our start form may save your answers in your own browser while you fill it in, so you don’t lose them if you switch apps. This stays on your device, is cleared when you close the tab, and isn’t sent to us unless you submit the form.
Cookies
This website does not use advertising or tracking cookies, and our analytics don’t use cookies at all. If we ever change that, we’ll update this policy and ask for consent where required.
How we use your information
- To reply to your enquiry and recommend the right plan.
- To provide our services: designing, building, launching and looking after your website.
- To send quotes and invoices, and to keep business records.
- To improve this website, using aggregate visitor statistics.
- To meet our legal obligations.
We won’t add you to a marketing list without your permission, and every marketing email we send will include a way to opt out.
Who we share it with
We don’t sell personal information. We share it only with service providers who help us run the business, such as:
- our website hosting, security and analytics provider (Cloudflare);
- the service that delivers enquiry emails to us;
- our email, file storage and accounting providers;
- domain registrars and other providers you ask us to set up for you.
Some of these providers store information outside Australia, including in the United States. We choose reputable providers and only share what’s needed. We may also disclose information if the law requires it.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiries for as long as they’re useful for responding to you and following up, and delete them when they’re no longer needed. Client and financial records are kept for as long as Australian law requires. [Specific retention periods: to be confirmed]
Keeping it secure
We use reputable providers, secure connections (HTTPS) and access controls to protect your information. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect what you share with us.
Accessing or correcting your information
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct or delete it. Contact us at [Privacy contact email: to be confirmed] and we’ll respond within 30 days.
Complaints
If you have a concern about how we’ve handled your information, please contact us first so we can try to fix it. If you’re not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be on this page, with the date it was last updated.
